STANLEY.
May 8.—Special Meeting.—Present—Messrs. Dowd (in the chair), Priest, Meany, and Brown. Letter from Clare Council, deputing Mr. A. Trilling to arrange with Stanley Council as to repairing road on boundary near Trilling’s Hill ; also, specifications of proposed work. Council agreed to assist in carrying out work as shown in specifications, with a few alterations. Mr. Priest to wait on Clare Council at next meeting to explain.
May 15.—All present. Chairman and Messrs. Dowd and Meany, having inspected Mr. McLeish’s contract on Hill River, stated that it was not finished. Mr. McLeish to have one week longer, and 8s. for rounding tops of posts at culvert and painting them; also, £5 for metalling 1½ chains extra. Annual subscription to Association of District Chairmen to be forwarded. Mr. Rowe applied for leave to remove a few loads of soil from hill between Company’s Farm and Slate-Quarry Paddock. Granted. Receipts, £1 4s. 4d. ; payments,
