NORTHERN AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
[Correspondent.]
On Tuesday, December 22, a Committee meeting of the above Society was held at Greenslade’s, Watervale. Present—the President, E. B. Gleeson, Esq., Vice-Presidents G. Young, Esq., M.P., Dr. Davis, J.P., and J. Brewer; Hon. Sec. Arthur King, Esq, J.P., and the following working Committee:—T. Treloar, J. E. Bleechmore, J. Bennett, and J. H. Bleechmore.
It was resolved that in consequence of the lateness of the season the annual show of grain, fruits, and manufactured articles be held at Clare on Thursday, the 17th of March, 1864.
The prize-list was revised and altered in accordance with a resolution of a previous general Committee. The most material alteration was made in the colonial wine department, three separate prizes being made for one, two, and three years old red and white wines respectively, properly classified.
It was resolved that His Excellency the Governor, as the Patron of the Society, be invited; also, that the same arrangements be made for the pavilion as at Mintaro; also, that the Secretary ascertain what amount music could be obtained for; also, that the dinner be held at Bradley’s, subject to arrangements to be made by the Clare Sub-Committee, consisting of Messrs. Hannaford, Gleeson, Robinson, Williams, and Dr. Davis.
Votes of thanks to the President, and to George Young, Esq., our worthy representative, for his attendance and continued interest in the Society, closed the proceedings.
