MINTARO, January 22.
The weather has again set in hot, and the farmers are busy, but a great deal of wheat has been lost through the unfavorable weather for the last fortnight.—Last Thursday Mintaro was again the scene of one of those cowardly and disgraceful faction fights which, I am sorry to say, are of very frequent occurrence. Two men were very shamefully kicked and knocked about. It would be well if a police-trooper were stationed here at once, instead of waiting till the Station is finished, for if something is not done, there will soon be somebody murdered. At present it is hardly safe for a person to walk down the street when there happens to be any of the rowdies about.
