Carters Gulf Road

The Burra Burra Mines.—Many of the old miners have returned to the works, and have expressed their intention of remaining on the ground. The number of carters on the Gulf-road is also increasing. The fires are already relighted at the Smelting Works, and the big chimney ‘ reeks ‘ as usual.

This small, thoroughly charming, largely untouched historic town features some of the most significant and captivating 19th century buildings & ruins in South Australia.

The Mintaro Progress Association Incorporated acknowledges the Ngadjuri people as the Traditional Owners of the Country where Mintaro is situated today, and pays its respect to Elders past and present.
